Terms of use

By using The Clear Brick Institute website, you agree to use the site lawfully, respectfully, and in a way that does not disrupt the platform, its users, or its mission.

Acceptable use

• Do not submit unlawful, abusive, deceptive, infringing, or harmful content.
• Do not attempt to bypass security, interfere with services, scrape protected data, or access restricted areas without authorization.
• Public submissions, comments, images, and profile content may be moderated, hidden, edited for formatting, or removed.

Accounts and public content

You are responsible for the accuracy of information you submit and for activity that occurs through your account. Public-facing content you submit may be displayed on the site when approved or when your settings allow it.

Digital wall purchases

Brick purchases and optional recurring purchases are for digital wall placement and the associated experience. They are purchases from a for-profit company, not charitable donations, are not tax deductible, do not represent a physical brick, and do not grant equity or ownership. Purchases are subject to the checkout, processing, recordkeeping, and anti-fraud controls used by the platform and its payment partners.

Purchase corrections and refunds

Digital brick purchases are final. We do not offer voluntary change-of-mind refunds. This policy does not restrict rights or remedies required by applicable law, correction of duplicate or unauthorized charges, or a card issuer’s dispute process. Contact support if your purchase was not delivered or a charge is incorrect. Cancel a recurring purchase before its next charge to stop future billing; cancellation does not refund past completed purchases.

How brick placement works

Each whole US dollar buys one individually colored digital brick. Each checkout and artwork collection holds up to 1,000 bricks. Additional purchases remain in further collections. Purchases are capped at $1,000 per normalized receipt email/account per UTC calendar month, including open checkouts; there is no lifetime support cap. Claiming earlier purchases and placing banked bricks do not create a new charge or restart this allowance. One dollar is welcome; larger purchases are never expected. Unplaced purchases keep their available bricks. New purchases also create gray history markers that link to the final artwork; these markers add no extra credits. A design preview does not reserve the final artwork location. Placements connect along an edge or to the bottom-left starting cell. Each brick has its own record; groups are validated and saved together. A design preview is not a guarantee that its spaces will remain available. If a placement conflicts with an existing brick, that brick is not spent. Confirmed colors, positions, and timestamps cannot be edited through the designer.

Free Wall and the pixel art studio

Free Wall is a shared, temporary canvas. Simulated purchases cost nothing. Its bricks may be overwritten and the entire Free Wall clears at 00:00 UTC on the first day of each month. A brick placed near that date remains for less than a full month. Keep an exported draft if you want to preserve your design.

Paid live-wall placement costs $1 for each occupied brick, including clear bricks. Empty canvas spaces do not cost anything. A confirmed paid group places together only when all its cells are available and connected; an unsuccessful group placement spends no bricks. Paid placements keep their recorded coordinates, colors, paint details, and timestamps. Free Wall resets and overwrites do not change the paid wall.

Verified sharing bricks

A brick can also recognize an effort. Signed-in members may earn one free permanent brick per account and linked social profile per UTC calendar month by sharing the website publicly with an account-specific code and visible disclosure that a digital brick can be earned. The team verifies the individual post, author and code before awarding a credit. Clicking a share or copy button alone earns nothing. Approval does not require a positive opinion. These credits add no money to the funding ledger, have no cash redemption value, and use the same placement and 1,000-brick collection rules. Verification reflects the post at review time. Purchased and earned bricks are distinguished in the permanent record.

Unclaimed purchase history

The team can review old purchases that have no account owner, public claim, or placed artwork and prepare company artwork from their unused bricks. This is a manual, recorded process, not an automatic expiration. Original payment records and dates remain intact, and each collection is placed only after a separate confirmation. Keep your private receipt codes and link them to your account to maintain access to unplaced purchases.

The site may change, improve, pause, or remove features at any time. The Clear Brick Institute does not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
